Modalitas Perkembangan Psikososial Erikson dan Tahapan Kedukaan Kubler-Ross pada Carl Fredricksen di Film UP

Abstract

Seseorang dapat mengalami kesedihan mendalam dan berbagai perubahan emosi ketika kehilangan pasangan akibat penyakit kronis. Dalam film animasi "UP" yang diproduksi oleh Disney-Pixar pada tahun 2009 inilah yang memberikan sentuhan emosi pada karakter utama Carl Fredricksen, seorang duda lanjut usia (lansia). Menggunakan The Stages of Grief oleh Kubler-Ross dan Perkembangan Psikososial Erikson, studi ini bertujuan untuk memetakan visual kunci dari berbagai adegan film yang menggambarkan dinamika kedukaan pada lansia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan kerangka Multimodality Discourse Analysis (MDA) oleh O’Halloran. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Carl tidak melalui tahap kedukaan secara berurutan, namun setelah melalui tahap penerimaan akhirnya ia mendapatkan penutupan (closure). Perasaan keutuhan tersebut membantu lansia untuk mencapai kesesuaian perkembangan psikososial berupa integrity. Studi ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman tentang dinamika kedukaan pada lansia, serta proses kehidupan yang harus dilalui hingga mencapai tahap akhir dari kedukaan mereka agar mampu mencapai perkembangan psikosial yang sesuai dengan tahapan usianya.

Dr. Rustono Farady Marta, S.Sos., M.Med.Kom. (蔡益安-FRAD) is a visiting assistant professor at the Faculty of Psychology at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia and Vice Rector of Student Journey & Enrollment, Alumni Affairs, Partnership at Universitas Satya Negara Indonesia (USNI). His research interest on identity and media studies as one of masterpiece PhD of Communication Science at Universitas Indonesia. Hana Panggabean, Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya

is a professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, in Jakarta. She has been working on research topics on culture and psychology in organizational settings for more than 20 years. Her working experiences include extensive years with developmental research projects and consultancies focusing on local cultures and group behavior.

Octavia Putri Tjajadi, Fathom Psychology Center

Octavia Putri, S.Psi., M.I.Kom., Psikolog is a clinical psychologist in Fathom Psychology Center. Her research interest on psychology and communication major. She is also practice as clinical psychologist since 2018. She is usually handle developmental cases.

Rizki Briandana, Universitas Mercu Buana

Rizki is an Associate Professor from the Faculty of Communication of Universitas Mercu Buana. He is an alumnus of the School of Communication at Universiti Sains Malaysia, where he acquired his Master's and Doctoral degrees.
