PRODUKSI SUSU, REPRODUKSI DAN MANAJEMEN KERBAU PERAH DI SUMATERA BARAT

Penelitian ini melibatkan 47 orang peternak yang melakukan pemerahan Kerbau Lumpur di Sumatera Barat Penelitian untuk memperoleh gambaran tentmg produksi susUJ reproduksi dan manajemen kerbau perah di Sumatera Barat, diIaksanakan muIai Oktober 1991 sampai Oktober 2006. Daerah sampel dan petemak responden ditetapkan dengan menggunakan metoda Purposive Random Sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, produksi susu per ekor per hari , lama Iaktasi dan produksi susu per laktasi berturut-turut sebagai berikut: 2,40 ± 0,53 kg, 8,89 ± 1,73 bulan dan 664 ,66 ± 174,01 kg, reproduksi : umur kawin pertama, lama bunting, jarak anak, interval sudah melahirkan sampai bunting kembali, lama kering dan frekuensi kawin maka bunting berturut -turut seperti berikut : 2,76 ± 1,95 tahun; 11,05 ± 0,31 bulan; 15,34 ± 1,95 bulan; 3,53 ± 0,99 bulan; 4,25 ± 2,10 bulan dan 1,6 ± 0,5 . Manajemen : pemeliharaan dan perawatm anak kerbau , kerbau dara , kerbau laktasi, kerbau kering dan kerbau jantm adalah sarna. Kerbau hanya diberi rumput dan daunan lain tmpa diberi makanan konsentrat Kerbau dikelola dengan usaha yang minimal dan biaya yang rendah.Downloads
