Analisis Kinerja Penangkal Petir Menggunakan Metoda Bola Gelinding Pada Gedung Perpustakaan Universitas Lancang Kuning Pekanbaru

ABSTRAK
Petir merupakan gejala alam yang tidak bisa dihilangkan atau dicegah, kejadian petir dapat melibatkan arus impuls yang tinggi, dalam waktu singkat dengan akibat bahaya yang besar. Langkah awal perencanaan penangkal petir adalah diketahui besar parameter arus petir penyebab kerusakan. Perlindungan sistem penangkal petir ditentukan oleh sifat, fungsi, kondisi bangunan dan peralatan yang akan dilindungi. Ada dua sistem penangkal petir yaitu sistem penangkal petir eksternal dan internal. Penangkal petir eksternal melindungi bangunan dari bahaya sambaran langsung petir dengan pengadaan finial penangkal petir. Gedung Universitas Lancang Kuning berada di dataran tinggi dan daerah terbuka, maka itu sangat rentan akan sambaran petir. Banyaknya peralatan-peralatan elektronik dan motor-motor listrik, perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang proteksi penangkal petir untuk melindungi bangunan dan isinya, sehingga aman dari sambaran petir, dengan metoda yang akan diterapkan yaitu metoda bola gelinding (rolling sphere). Dari hasil penelitian ini dengan metoda rolling sphare untuk gedung Pustaka Universitas Lancang Kuning diperoleh nilai radius lindung sebesar 128,15 meter dan sudut perlindungan sebesar 650.

ABSTRACT
Lightning is a natural phenomenon that cannot be eliminated or prevented, lightning events may involve a high impulse current, in a short time to result in serious injury. The initial step is the planning of a lightning rod lightning current parameters are known to cause damage. Lightning protection system is determined by the nature, function, condition of buildings and equipment to be protected. There are two lightning protection system lightning protection system that is external and internal. External lightning rod to protect buildings from the dangers of direct lightning strikes to the lightning rod finial procurement. Lancang Kuning University building located on high ground and open areas, then it is very vulnerable to lightning strikes. The number of electronic devices and electric motors, it is necessary to do research on lightning protection to protect the building and its contents, making it safe from a lightning strike, the method will be applied ie the rolling sphere method. From the results of this study with a method for building rolling sphere Lancang Kuning University Library acquired value hedge radius of 128.15 feet and corner protection for 650.
