METODE SECANT-MIDPOINT NEWTON UNTUK MENYELESAIKAN PERSAMAAN NONLINEAR

Pada artikel ini akan dibahas metode baru yang dikembangkan dari kombinasi metode Secant dan metode Midpoint Newton untuk menyelesaikan persamaan nonlinear. Penerapan metode Midpoint Newton yang memiliki orde kekonvergenan tiga kedalam metode Secant yang memiliki orde kekonvergenan superlinear akan menghasilkan metode dengan orde kekonvergenan empat. Uji komputasi akan diberikan untuk menunjukkan bahwa metode baru ini cukup sebanding dengan metode Secant-Trapesium Newton yang diusulkan oleh Jain [2] terhadap beberapa contoh persamaan nonlinear.
