Abstract

SMS (Short Message Service) adalah layanan yang disediakan oleh ponsel operator untuk mengirim dan menerima pesan singkat. SMS dinilai sangat praktis, murah dan efisien  dengan memberikan fasilitas SMS aplikasi pengaksesan data yang  dapat digunakan di dalam sebuah lembaga pendidikan sekolah. Berdasarkan kebutuhan system terhadap proses informasi nilai, absensi, jadwal belajar, jadwal ujian serta kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, melalui  pendekatan objek oriented diusulkan sebuah Sistem informasi kesiswaan berbasis SMS gateway dengan tujuan mengirimkan informasi sebagai respon atas permintaan yang dikirimkan oleh peminta, dapat berupa bisa berupa informasi calon siswa baru, informasi nilai siswa (nilai tugas, nilai ulangan dan nilai semester), informasi absensi siswa, informasi jadwal belajar, jadwal ujian dan  informasi ekstrakurikuler sekolah serta meningkatkan citra positif sekolah khususnya kepada masyarakat umum.
